A popular and successful offering, the 2022 INFINITI Q50 is a welcome choice for those of you whose idea of the perfect new INFINITI model isn’t an SUV. There are some changes for the new model year that make this fun-driving sedan a great reason to visit INFINITI of Columbus.
2022 INFINITI Q50 New Features
The Pure model has been retired for the new model year. As a result, the 2022 INFINITI Q50 Luxe is now this model’s point of entry. That also means that the base trim is now very well-equipped, with leather upholstery, a Bose® Performance Series sound system with sixteen speakers, and wireless capability for Apple CarPlay® all moving to the standard equipment column.
2022 INFINITI Q50 Performance and Capabilities
The new INFINITI Q50 offers rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, with both drivelines drawing their power from a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine. That engine is offered in two states of tune; in the Luxe, Sensory, and Signature trims it’s tuned for 300 horsepower, while the Red Sport 400 trim tunes it to 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
All trims share a seven-speed transmission. The Red Sport model complements its higher output with performance upgrades that include adaptive suspension, sport brakes, staggered wheels, and paddle shifters.
2022 INFINITI Q50 Interior
Each trim is sheathed in leather, with the Sensory and Red Sport upgrading to sport seats. A power moonroof is standard, with more amenities — navigation with SiriusXM® traffic, enhanced climate control, ambient cabin lighting, and upgraded leather — added to each successive trim.
2022 INFINITI Q50 Safety Features
Forward emergency braking and a surround-view monitor are standard. Other features are trim-specific or package-based, such as the ProActive package available solely to the Red Sport 400, which combines Direct Adaptive Steering, Active Lane Control, Blind Spot Intervention, and self-leveling headlights.
