Signs of Excessive Wear and Tear
If a car is a few years old, it’s going to show it with some minor wear and tear. You want to look for any signs of excessive wear to make sure that this used car hasn’t been subjected to rougher conditions than most.
After evaluating the exterior, check the inside of the vehicle. Look at all three rows and make sure that the seats are in good shape. Don’t settle for an SUV with heavily damaged upholstery.

Test out each of the doors and the liftgate. Open them slowly and make sure that the hinges on each are in good shape. Excessive noise or a “loose” feel could be a sign of trouble.

A used car that’s relatively new should still have its original tires. If you notice that the four tires are from different brands or that they aren’t worn down evenly, you should ask what the dealer knows about that.
