Clear out the Clutter
As little as 100 extra pounds in your car can reduce your fuel efficiency. While there are some items that you should keep in your INFINITI car, such as an emergency kit, many drivers tend to carry more than necessary.
Clear out things like forgotten backpacks, sports equipment, and extra books. Also, certain accessories can reduce efficiency, such as roof racks, cargo boxes, and bike racks.
Limit Idling
You may have noticed that many late-model INFINITI cars already feature the stop-start system. This allows cars to conserve fuel by automatically shutting down the engine when the car comes to a stop.
If your car doesn’t have this feature, you can conserve fuel by reducing you idling time in your driveway or parking lots.
Drive the Speed Limit
After you reach 45 to 50 miles per hour, your car begins to lose fuel efficiency. The faster you go, the lower your gas mileage gets. Try to drive the speed limit in order to avoid wasting gasoline.
Check Your Tire Pressure
When you bring your car in for regular INFINITI maintenance, our mechanics will check your tire pressure to make sure that they’re properly inflated. Driving on underinflated tires can reduce fuel efficiency by as much as 3 percent.
